Celebrations were in full swing at the Brandon House Hotel on Friday night as Guardian Fire & Security beat off stiff competition in the FBD Business & Community Awards in association with New Ross Chamber to scoop the “Best Small Business Award 2011”

The judges from the School of Business at W.I.T. were looking for an independently owned business whose growth and quality of management had enabled it to out perform the competition.

Brendan Stamp, Managing Director here at Guardian Fire & Security commented “ We are delighted to receive such an acknowledgement. It would not have been possible without the commitment of such a talented team of staff. A special thanks also to our loyal customers and dedicated suppliers”

We were also a runner up in the Customer Service Category, which was won by Town & Country Mercantile so a big congrats to them and all the winners on the night.

We at Guardian Fire & Security are thrilled to have reached the final selection in the upcoming FBD Business & Community Awards 2011.

This years categories include Best New Business, Best Small Business, Best School Enterprise, Best Shop Front, Community Services Award, Customer Services Award and Eco Friendly Award.

The finalists were selected by a panel of judges from the School of Business at WIT led by Dr. Tom O’ Toole.

 The winners will be announced at a Gala Ball on Friday 1^st April 2011.

Celebrations commenced with a glass of bubbly and certificate presentation followed by a meal at Et Voila Restaurant, New Ross. An enjoyable evening was had by all.

It was smiles all round on Friday last when we received the news that we had successfully achieved third party accreditation in respect of IS3218:2009, the Irish Standard Specification for Fire Detection & Alarm Systems for Buildings.

The MSC (Management Systems Certification Ltd) accreditation is designed to review and accredit the ability of providers to test, commission and certify their works in relation to fire detection and alarm systems that have been designed and installed in compliance with the Irish Standard.

The process involved an in depth audit together with site inspections. Thankfully all the hard work paid off and we are proud to be the first Fire Company in the South East to successfully achieve the MSC Certificate of Registration.

Brendan Stamp has just received a Certificate of Award in the first ever series of the Design/Theory IS3218: 2009 Fire Detection & Alarm Systems certificate course.

This third party accredited certificate course is an intense 3 day course for those involved in the design of Fire Detection & Alarm Systems.

Brendan was the only course participant to receive a distinction award. We are thrilled with this result as it is an acknowledgement of our commitment to excellence in our industry.

Alan Walsh, Senior Engineer has also just completed the above mentioned and is now taking the commissioning element of the course and will sit exams later in the year. Good Luck Alan! …. No Pressure!!
